Vision Mission Trip Sierra Leone – 14th to 24th March 2023

Vision Mission Sierra Leone

The International Aid Trust Vision Mission team, consisting of opticians Peter and Sheila and assistants Alison and John, are travelling to Lungi in the West African country of Sierra Leone from the 14th to 24th March, to conduct eye examinations and prescribe spectacles.

They hope to screen and examine hundreds of children at New Hope School, along with as many teachers, pastors and other adults in the villages as possible. They will arrange treatments for any ocular diseases if possible dependant on location and funding. Already in country are over a thousand donated glasses collected by International Aid Trust, that are sorted, measured and ready for using.

The team will stay in a local guesthouse and attend New Hope Church on Sunday to pass on greetings from our congregations in the U.K.

Sincere thanks to Rev. Bernard Cocker (Founder and CEO) and all the UK team for enabling this project to happen. They have done this as well as organising the collection and shipping of hundreds of tons of desperately needed aid to the Ukraine and collaborating with the many International Aid Trust missions throughout our hurtling world. This is all made possible by our loving saviour Jesus Christ.

Ukraine News

Slavic is such a humble man of God.

Please listen to my old friend Slavic Kravchuck. Bishop of Nikalieav Region Churches on the Black Sea coast. The last time I preached there we celebrated his churches 25th birthday. It was special.

When he was talking to me on the phone he was so very excited.

“Big miracle revival brother !!! In May we were down to 170 people in our church because many young families left as refugees for the west.
Then we began giving out your aid and water and preaching to the victims. Next Sunday 400 people came, Sunday after 1000 came, next Sunday 2000 came, then 4000 ! Last Sunday we had 5000 people and 2000 people at our mid week prayer meeting, so many salvations. Praise God!
We can’t fit them all in the church it was built for 1500 people ! There is even no place for pastors to sit. Thank you all so much”

Ukraine Appeal – latest update – Saturday 26th March 2022

A huge thank you for all your support for the people of Ukraine at this difficult time.

Your kind practical and financial donations mean that we have now sent 10 (!) articulated lorries full of desperately needed aid, some to our team in Ukraine, some to our trusted Christian partners working with refugees in surrounding countries. It’s wonderful to see this aid arriving and being quickly distributed – and the dedication of our teams on the ground to serving those in need, despite the dangers to themselves.

Here is a video update from Rev. Bernard Cocker, (CEO and Founder) filmed at the warehouse a few days ago https://youtu.be/Dbmy_lSr31s

Here is a link to an email update with more detail about the current situation https://bit.ly/3usqv5v

We continue to need donations of food, medical supplies, toiletries, shoes and sleeping bags. We are working hard to sort and pack all the clothes and bedding already donated, so ask for no more of these items for another couple of weeks please.

Thank you very much to everyone who has volunteered at our warehouse recently in response to the Ukraine Appeal, your sorting, packing, stacking, brewing up etc. is greatly appreciated! Here are a few photos from the past few weeks and please follow this link to hear what some of our volunteers have to say: https://youtu.be/Qo8ieUaxN10

Would you like to join the team? We will be continuing to sort and send aid for as long as needed, Monday to Friday 10am  – 4pm, We also welcome groups from churches, businesses etc. please email julie@internationalaidtrust.org.uk or text Julie on 07502 055109 if you would like to come along.

Thank you for your prayer, children and staff from our Living Hope School in India and New Hope School in Sierra Leone have also been praying for their brothers and sisters in Ukraine.

Please pray with us for peace and an end to the war, please pray for God to sustain our teams in Ukraine as they serve, please pray for all who have had to leave their homes, for all sheltering underground, may they know God’s love and help.
