Urgent Appeal for Ukraine – The Unfolding Disaster

Dear Friends and Supporters.

The situation in Ukraine is worsening by the minute and these desperate people now need our help more than ever before.

Before this  latest attack by Putin’s Russia many families and old people could not afford to buy even basic food items, with pensioners receiving less than £100 per month.  Food costs are the equivalent of those here in the UK so it has been a choice between food or fuel with any needed medications simply being out of the question. With the situation now deteriorating so rapidly we need to be ready to help those who are worse affected. The destitute are always hit first and hit the hardest and they won’t be able to seek refuge elsewhere.

We have over thirty years experience of ministry in Ukraine with our own teams and  networks already there in place.  They are committed to staying put and helping those who need it most. Can you help us to help them please?

Donations can be made directly into our bank account using the following details. This is the easiest and most cost effective way of giving with nothing taken out for administrative purposes.  Other payment methods can be found here

Easter Message

Christ Has Risen! He has Risen Indeed!

Dear Friends and Supporters

In Matthews Gospel 28: 6-8, we read how an angel of the Lord appeared to the women at the tomb early that first Easter Morning and told them;

He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.”So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.

That’s what the resurrection does.  It takes away our fears, hurts, sadness and uncertainties and puts them all into perspective.  The simple fact (there were over 500 witnesses), that Jesus rose from the dead, and was victorious over sin and death is reason beyond doubt to celebrate Easter and give us hope to look not at our earthly circumstances but towards heavens resources.

Twenty seven years ago I also heard the Good News, met the Risen Saviour and saw with my own eyes the “Shekinah” the glory of God.  I also experienced fear but then the joy of accepting Christ’s forgiveness took away my fear and changed my life forever.  Because of this “GOOD NEWS” International Aid Trust was founded and has been used by God to bring this same life changing message to untold numbers across this hurting world somewhere every minute of every single day.

But, without your help none of this would have been possible and on behalf of all our teams, both here in the UK and internationally I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

What happened on that first Easter Day is still changing lives today and can change yours too.  If you don’t know Jesus as your personal friend and saviour you can ask him into your life today – and then see it changed forever.

John 3:16-17  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

May God’s blessing be with and keep you always in His perfect peace.

Christmas Message from our CEO

Dear Friends and Supporters of International Aid Trust,

Please accept these few words of thanks for your continued support during 2017. This last year (our 26th) has been both challenging and very rewarding.  Despite some testing situations, with God’s help we have been able to further expand in some areas with more church plants and practical help too.  Over 400 tons of high quality aid with a value of close on £5 million have been gathered, sorted, packed and distributed to some of the poorest people of this hurting world.  Of course, our work begins here at home in the UK where we have our own needy, but worldwide we are helping hospitals, children’s homes, the homeless, the disabled, rehabilitation centres, and the elderly and vulnerable.  In Africa, India, Eastern Europe, South America and Sri Lanka lives are being saved, changed and turned around for the better, many thousands of the world’s poorest are receiving the gospel with genuine hope for a better future – because you care.

Over eighty percent of the income that makes all this possible comes through the work done by our shops that also serve the local communities in such a worthwhile way.  Your generosity and kindness never ceases to amaze, encourage and inspire us.

We must not forget all our other vital links in the chain such as, warehouse, transport, local co-ordinators, churches, fundraisers, office staff and volunteers, all coming together to make such a wonderful team – and there is room for more willing volunteers in these areas. Never have we been more positive regarding the future of IAT.  There is a very positive spirit moving through the charity as we seek to meet ever new challenges during the year ahead in this needy and hurting world.

May I, on behalf of all the trustees, staff and those we seek to serve, wish you a Happy, Peaceful and Blessed Christmas. As we look forward to 2018 may we remember The One who taught us the real meaning of loving our neighbours as ourselves. That’s why He came.

Matthew 25:40 ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

God Bless you all for your loyalty and commitment.

Education

For families living in poverty, paying to educate their children is difficult yet education is part of the way out of poverty. IAT has built and runs New Hope schools in India and Sierra Leone as part of its practical expression of Christian love. We also run skills training programmes such as the House of Dorcas sewing projects for women.

Gospel Work

Reaching out with the love of Jesus to meet people’s greatest and deepest need is fundamental to the work of International Aid Trust. The Trust sponsors pastors and church building, provides Bibles and teaching and has more than 2,000 partner churches all round the world.
